1. CARBON MARKET:
Carbon market value reaches $64 billion -- World Bank

The global carbon market more than doubled last year to $64 billion, the World Bank's carbon finance unit reported Wednesday. At the same time, reductions in carbon emissions from clean energy projects in developing countries are leveling off -- a sign, traders say, of uncertainty in the market as companies await a post-2012 agreement on climate change. Yet the sharp increase in the carbon market in 2007 from $31.2 billion in 2006, economists said, underscores a high confidence in the market that bodes well for long-term investments in capital infrastructure and other projects.
