Partisan price fight rages into July 4 break
House Democrats and Republicans are heading home for July 4 recess, each side armed with fresh ammunition in their effort to show voters the other side is failing to address high oil and gasoline prices. Before adjourning, the House rejected a major plank of the Democrats' pre-July 4 oil and gas agenda, the "use it or lose it" bill designed to pressure oil companies to drill on nonproducing leases.
