Upset by lack of reforms in new law, advocates turn sights to 2014

Sen. Mike Enzi turned some heads during the Senate's transportation bill debate when he proposed raising the gas tax, a politically toxic position that has philosophical support but little practical potential. Unsurprisingly, the Wyoming Republican's effort was withdrawn and no gas tax increase was included in the final bill. And, also predictably, that was among the factors that cost Enzi's vote. Enzi was not alone in his frustration -- the meat of the transportation bill was met with a resounding shrug by many stakeholders and analysts. Go to story #1
