Capturing the sun to circle the Earth

Louis Palmer (red route) is traveling across five continents in his solar-powered car, the SolarTaxi. He began his global trek last year and will complete it in Lucerne, Switzerland, in December. Fellow Swiss adventurers behind the PlanetSolar catamaran (green route) and Solar Impulse airplane (pink route) are planning to round-the-world trips in their solar-powered creations in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
