Both candidates tout energy as a path to economic recovery in first debate

DENVER -- President Obama and GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney clashed last night over tax benefits to the oil and gas industry and federal investments in the renewable energy industry, as the duo faced off in the first presidential debate of the general election. Although health care, education and tax reforms dominated the 90-minute debate held at the University of Denver, Obama and Romney also dedicated time to energy policy in several exchanges.
