Producers and climate proponents could find common cause in opposing coal, report says
Shale gas production could be politically valuable for climate proponents in that, if successful, it could break the coal industry's "stranglehold" over national energy and climate policy, Harvard University professor Daniel Schrag argues. Schrag, who heads Harvard's Center for the Environment, is one of the authors of a new assessment of climate policy in the spring issue of Daedalus, the journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
