Shale resources force out foreign oil by 2035 in EIA scenario

"Energy independence," a rhetorical goal for the United States since the Nixon administration, could be reached by 2035 through a combination of fuel switching; mileage efficiency improvements; new battery technologies; and a lot more oil, gas and biofuel production, the Energy Information Administration said yesterday.
