Groups take polar bear listing back to court

Environmental groups are taking the Bush administration back to court over the "threatened" listing of polar bears in an attempt to overturn the special rule that exempts the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions from the purview of the Endangered Species Act. The new regulations to protect the polar bear as threatened under the Endangered Species Act were not on the books for more than a day before the groups filed legal complaints against them. The challenge comes from the groups that sued the administration earlier this year to force protection of the bear. Go to story #1
