U.S. petroleum demand sees steepest drop in 17 years -- API

High prices and a sluggish economy have prompted the steepest drop in U.S. oil demand since 1991, the American Petroleum Institute said today. During the first half of 2008, total petroleum deliveries -- a proxy for demand -- fell 3 percent compared to this period in 2007, the trade group said in its monthly report. Go to story #1
