Energy Information chief -- 'the calmest person' in a tempest -- moves on

Six and a half years of being the bearer of bad news was enough for Guy Caruso, who is leaving the Energy Information Administration at the end of this month. While he led EIA, the price of gasoline rose from a bit more than $1 a gallon to $4. And each time prices lurched up, Capitol Hill called on Caruso to explain what was going on, predict what might happen next and take flak when his projections weren't on the money. "There hasn't been a period of more than a few months when something hasn't happened," Caruso said in a recent interview in his airy Energy Department office. Go to story #1
