The battery recycling industry is lobbying against U.S. EPA's efforts to toughen 30-year-old air pollution standards for lead. Industry lobbyists went to the White House Office of Management and Budget last week to argue against EPA's proposed standards, saying the rule would cripple recycling and ultimately cause more environmental damage. Environmentalists say the industry is trying to avoid the expense of compliance at the risk of damaging public health. Go to story #1
