Republicans, Democrats trade fire on Reid energy bill

Top Senate Republicans said today they see little room for compromising on the Democrats' energy and oil spill-response package scheduled for floor consideration early next week. Key among their concerns is language that would remove the $75 million liability cap for oil companies involved in a spill and their expectation that Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will bring the bill to a vote without any amendments.
