'Oil patch' Democrats may decide spill bill's fate

Passage or defeat of House oil spill legislation may hang on Democrats from oil-producing states, most of whom haven't publicly committed to voting for or against the bill. House Natural Resources Chairman Nick Rahall (D-W.Va.), the author of the bill, and other Democratic leaders have expressed confidence that they have the votes. But about 30 moderate Democrats have yet to either commit to voting for or against the measure. Republicans appear unified in opposition. Go to story #1
