Scientist who leaked Heartland documents is a well-known political warrior

The man behind last week's Heartland Institute leak is a California-based climate and water researcher with a penchant for going after climate skeptics. Peter Gleick admitted last night on his Huffington Post blog that he lied to Heartland staff about his identity in order to obtain fundraising and budget documents that he then made available to journalists and environmentalists. Gleick said a climate strategy memo that purports to be from Heartland but which the Chicago-based think tank has called a forgery was sent to him separately by a source who remains unknown to him.
