Pelosi outlines $500B economic stimulus plan

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told leading governors today about plans for an economic stimulus package that an aide said could cost about $500 billion. The aide, who asked not to be identified, said the legislation would include a tax cut for the middle class; billions of dollars for road, bridge and mass-transit construction; expanded aid to states; and renewable energy investment.
