Top Obama administration officials and Democratic lawmakers staunchly defended global warming science today while Republicans waged a full-scale attack against the integrity of leading climate scientists involved in a controversy over stolen e-mails. The e-mails lifted from computers at the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia reveal frustration with attacks from climate skeptics; others appear to indicate that scientists intentionally withheld climate data.
