Four new or upcoming U.S. EPA air pollution rules that have been sharply criticized by industry may lead to the retirement of between 2 and 12 percent of the nation's coal-burning power capacity but appear unlikely to significantly threaten grid reliability or cause an abnormal spike in electricity prices, the Government Accountability Office said today.
