1. NATURAL GAS:

LNG exports good for U.S. economy, bad for wage earners -- DOE study

Permitting extensive exports of liquefied natural gas is good for the U.S. economy and would not tie domestic prices to higher rates paid overseas, according to a study commissioned by the Energy Department and released today. The study of macroeconomic impacts of LNG exports considered a wide range of market and export scenarios and concluded that all would lead to "net economic benefits" -- though particular constituencies, including certain manufacturing industries and individuals relying primarily on wage income, would likely not share them.
