GSA chief resigns after 'significant mis-step'

The General Services Administration, which is charged with managing federal assets and instituting cost-saving practices across the government, lost its administrator today as details of a high-priced training conference at a luxury Las Vegas hotel have come to light. GSA Administrator Martha Johnson submitted her resignation today as the agency watchdog prepares to release a report about the 2010 conference, which, according to a Washington Post report this afternoon, cost $835,000 and was attended by 300 agency employees.
