Obama nominates nuke-waste expert, professor to replace Jaczko

President Obama today said he will nominate a college professor known as an expert in nuclear-waste issues to chair the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, setting up a high-stakes, two-track confirmation battle over the next 30 days. If confirmed by the Senate, Allison Macfarlane would replace Gregory Jaczko, who announced his resignation Monday.
