Rising temperatures wreaking havoc with spring -- researchers
Springtime temperatures have changed more since the 1880s than those in summer or fall, disrupting natural water supply and biological patterns and lengthening the allergy season, scientists told reporters today. Average temperatures in March are already 2.1 degrees Fahrenheit higher than they were in preindustrial times, and snow cover in March and April has been declining since reliable record keeping began in the 1920s, researchers said.
