1,100-page Senate farm bill draft released ahead of markup

The Senate farm bill would require farmers to comply with conservation requirements in order to receive crop insurance subsidies on highly erodible land, according to a draft of the bill released today. It would also provide rural energy programs with mandatory funding and allow renewable chemicals to qualify for farm bill assistance for the first time.
