Moniz pledges focus on efficiency in first speech as secretary

Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz promises a forceful commitment to promoting energy efficiency in his first public remarks since being sworn in this morning. Moniz touted the administration's support for efficiency legislation expected to hit the Senate floor next month, pledged a renewed focus on strengthening appliance efficiency standards and called for redoubled efforts to assist federal agencies in meeting President Obama's goal of entering into $2 billion worth of energy savings performance contracts by the end of this year.
