BLM draft plan to protect Colo. sage grouse could affect energy, other land uses

The Obama administration is proposing significant steps to protect imperiled greater sage grouse populations and habitat across 1.6 million acres of federal lands in northwest Colorado. The Bureau of Land Management tomorrow plans to release draft resource management plan amendments and a draft environmental impact statement that incorporate a host of new sage grouse conservation measures on BLM and Forest Service lands in the northwest corner of the state, according to an advance notice published in today's Federal Register.
