1. FEDERAL AGENCIES:

Most EPA, Interior and DOE staffers face furloughs

About one out of every 10 U.S. EPA employees will be holding down the fort next week if Congress and the White House can't reach a deal to fund the government before Monday night. More than 93 percent of EPA's staff of 16,205 full- and part-time employees would be furloughed under the latest contingency plan released today by the agency.
