Republican slams bid to boost NOAA funding in aid bill
The more than $50 billion Superstorm Sandy aid package that is being moved through the House this week is already drawing criticism from conservative lawmakers worried about it being a vehicle for pork. This afternoon, Georgia Republican Rep. Paul Broun singled out for criticism a large portion of the money targeted for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that was included in an amendment offered by appropriator Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-N.J.).
