Every dollar spent on parks yields $10 benefit -- NPS report

National parks generated more than $26 billion in economic activity in 2012, according to an annual report released today on the effects of visitor spending. While Congress gave the National Park Service a $28 million bump in this year's budget, advocates say much more is needed to pay down an $11 billion maintenance backlog.
