About this video

OnPoint, 12/03/2007

As the international community meets this week in Bali, Indonesia to determine a process for negotiating a post-2012 climate agreement, questions remain about how far the talks will go and what role the United States will play during the negotiations. During today's OnPoint, Dr. Jonathan Pershing, director of the Climate, Energy, and Pollution Program at the World Resources Institute, explains what he believes needs to happen in Bali in order for the meeting to be considered a success. Dr. Pershing, one of the lead authors for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), discusses expectations for the Bush Administration. He also gives his thoughts on the Lieberman-Warner climate bill and the future of domestic climate negotiations.
