Transit:
APTA policy director Guzzetti looks at the path ahead for mass transit in the U.S.
At the polls last week, voters in several states approved significant new sources of funding for mass transit projects. Art Guzzetti, director of policy and advocacy at the American Public Transportation Association, talks about these ballot initiatives and other local efforts to pay for subway, bus and light rail systems. Guzzetti also discusses the transportation reauthorization bill Congress passed last summer, the effect of high gasoline prices on ridership and whether transit is expanding outside of its traditional stronghold in the northeastern United States.
