Heritage panel discusses Sunni-Shia conflict's impact on oil supplies, prices

The friction between Sunnis and Shias in the Middle East is cause for concern for countries that rely on the region for oil. The conflict potentially threatens the stability and security of oil flows from the region. During today's E&ETV Event Coverage, a Heritage Foundation panel discusses how the Sunni-Shia conflict is impacting oil markets. They address how the United States and other nations should deal with the conflict and try to facilitate cooperation between stakeholders and oil exporting countries. Panelists include, Ambassador Naser M. Y. Al Belooshi, of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gal Luft, executive director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, Jim Phillips, research fellow for Middle Eastern Affairs at The Heritage Foundation, and Ariel Cohen, senior research fellow of International Energy Security at The Heritage Foundation.
