The world's polar bear population will likely be cut by a third in the next few decades as global warming shrinks the amount of sea ice that is their primary habitat.
The Supreme Court this morning agreed to hear a case involving whether the Clean Water Act covers pollution that moves through groundwater before reaching a federal waterway. Its outcome could clarify or narrow EPA's historical interpretation of the types of pollution discharges covered by the law.
