Calif. sees solar growth spurt

Solar energy is surging in California, as lower prices power an expansion expected to last at least eight years. Sun-generated electricity by 2020 is projected to make up an average 11 percent of all power sold by Golden State-based utilities Pacific Gas and Electric Co., Southern California Edison Co. and San Diego Gas Electric Co.
