Timber lobbyist-turned-enviro longs to let forests burn

Andy Stahl has never shied from breaking with old allies. He started his career as a hero to loggers. Then he fought them to save the spotted owl in the Northwest forests, and environmentalists loved him. Now, as head of green group Forest Service Employees for Environmental Ethics, he is taking an unorthodox view on forest fires -- let them burn -- and throwing both sides overboard.
