COLUMBIA FALLS, Mont. — Founded in 2013 to bring "transparency to the public lands debate," the Montana-based Western Values Project has gained national attention for helping expose former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's industry ties and potential ethical violations. But with the group's growing stature has come increased scrutiny of its opaque sources of funding.
