Congress bucks White House on environmental spending

Congressional appropriators dismissed President Trump's drive to slash EPA's budget, opting instead for the status quo in spending legislation released late last night to fund several agencies for the remainder of the fiscal year and avoid another partial government shutdown. Spending authority is set to run out tomorrow, but the House and Senate are expected to vote on the spending package today.
