Justices uphold Va. ban on uranium development

Virginia can continue prohibiting uranium development within its borders after the Supreme Court issued a split opinion today that the state's decades-old extraction ban does not conflict with federal law that puts the U.S. government in charge of safety oversight for uranium and other radiological materials.

USDA workers balk at relocation plans

Agriculture Department employees stood with their backs turned to Secretary Sonny Perdue yesterday as he defended his plan to move two research agencies from Washington, D.C., to Kansas City. More than 500 employees will be affected by the change.
