Meet the salmon scientist at the center of the Pebble fight

WOOD-TIKCHIK STATE PARK, Alaska — University of Washington aquatic ecologist Daniel Schindler has put himself in the middle of the two-decade fight over the Pebble mine, a proposal to build one of the world's largest gold and copper mines in Alaska. His research on salmon has become a cornerstone of mine opposition.
