Kerry wants Senate Dems to place Thanksgiving deadline on cap and trade
Senate Democratic leaders plan to huddle Friday to map out a strategy for global warming and energy legislation, including discussion of a Thanksgiving deadline for five committees to complete their work on the comprehensive measure, the bill's lead sponsor said today. Foreign Relations Chairman John Kerry (D-Mass.) said he will meet with Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to determine the state of play of the climate bill amid the much more publicized push to pass health care legislation. "We're meeting to discuss that very issue of exactly what the time frame is going to be for the other committees to report an end," Kerry said.
