Interior, EPA strike deal on Utah project

The Interior Department announced today it has reached an agreement with U.S. EPA and a major oil and gas company to advance a project in northeast Utah that would protect air quality while allowing up to 3,675 new gas wells. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said the mitigation agreement with Anadarko Petroleum Corp. could potentially produce more than 6 trillion cubic feet of natural gas over 10 years while creating hundreds of jobs in Utah.
