Obama rejects 'shotgun approach' to funding programs

President Obama today firmly rejected Republican efforts to fund the government piece by piece, as he continued to demand that Congress end the shutdown and raise the debt limit. Obama vowed he wouldn't budge on Republican bills aimed at reopening just a few visible government programs, including national parks and monuments and veterans' programs.
