Obama admin takes key step toward Atlantic exploration

The Obama administration this afternoon took a major step toward opening the Atlantic Ocean to oil and gas exploration by finalizing a plan that would allow the first new mineral surveys since the 1980s. The Interior Department plan would allow companies to deploy high-volume air guns in federal waters from Delaware to Florida to pinpoint the depth and size of oil and gas deposits.
