EPA proposes update to 18-year-old landfill emission rules

U.S. EPA today released a proposed update to 18-year-old standards for air pollutants stemming from municipal solid waste landfills. New and modified landfills would be required to put in place technology to capture two-thirds of their emitted methane and toxic air pollutants by 2023 under the proposed rule.
