Green Car Summit explores challenges to getting more efficient vehicles into U.S. market

As U.S. automakers continue to face financial challenges, energy efficiency and the environment have become a central focus in how to solve some of Detroit's problems. During today's E&ETV Event Coverage of the 2009 Washington Auto Show's Green Car Summit, panelists debate vehicle emissions regulation and the impacts of a gas tax. They also discuss how the government should provide incentives for consumers to purchase more efficient vehicles. Panelists include Alan Niedzwiecki, president and CEO of Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide; Dan Weiss, senior fellow and director of climate strategy at the Center for American Progress; Johan de Nysschen, executive vice president at Audi; and Richard Kolodziej, president of NGVAmerica.
