The House voted 246-164 on Thursday to strike the Biden administration’s waiver for California’s rule that would phase-out gasoline-powered vehicles.

This week’s House action on the issue is part of a campaign on Capitol Hill and the courts from opponents of California’s move to promote electric vehicles and other zero-emission cars, and it sets up a fight in the Senate.

Thirty-five House Democrats voted for H.J. Res. 88, from Rep. John Joyce (R-Pa.) — including Reps. Jared Moskowitz of Florida, Joyce Beatty of Ohio, Hillary Scholten of Michigan, Gabe Vasquez of New Mexico and Henry Cuellar of Texas.
