The House voted to undo the Biden administration’s contentious tailpipe rule on passenger vehicles Friday with support from a small number of moderate Democrats.

The Congressional Review Act resolution, H.J. Res. 136, from Michigan Republican Rep. John James, would roll back EPA’s rule for cars and small trucks that Republicans have labeled a “de-facto electric vehicle mandate.” The resolution passed 215-191.

Eight Democrats joined Republicans in voting for the bill, including moderate Reps. Henry Cuellar of Texas, Jared Golden of Maine and Mary Peltola of Alaska.

The “yes” votes also included Democrats in particularly tight election races, including Reps. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, Don Davis of North Carolina and Marie Gluesenkamp-Perez of Washington.
