An influential Boston-based coalition of state air regulators has chosen a new executive director to replace Paul Miller, who is retiring after more than seven years in the post.
Michelle Manion will take the reins as the head at Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management at the beginning of March, the group said in a Wednesday news release that highlighted her ability to build and lead effective partnerships and also help organizations navigate change.
Manion previously led NESCAUM’s climate and energy program from 2005 to 2013, the organization said. After also working at the World Resources Institute and Abt Associates, a consulting firm, she is currently vice president of policy and advocacy at the Massachusetts Audubon Society, according to her LinkedIn profile. An economist by training, she has a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and a master’s from the University of Michigan.
In a statement, Manion said she looked forward to backing “a proud legacy of innovative air and climate priorities.”
