The Army Corps of Engineers has not consistently reported to Congress whether its civil works projects are being managed to mitigate damage to regulated waters and wetlands, according to the Government Accountability Office.

In a report released Wednesday, the GAO found that for 12 years the Army Corps provided “inconsistent or incomplete information” about the status of construction projects requiring environmental measures, making it “difficult to draw reliable conclusions about the extent of mitigation activities and their effects.”
