The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lifted its temporary pause Thursday on permitting for renewable energy projects, according to an agency spokesperson.
The agency had paused evaluation on a temporary basis for 168 renewable-energy-related projects, pending reported feedback from the Trump administration and in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order on energy. The pause was expected to last until at least Friday.
An Army Corps spokesperson said in an email Thursday the temporary pause on permitting actions was lifted and that all of the pending renewable energy projects will continue in their evaluations.
A prolonged pause and uncertainty from the agency, which conducts permitting under the Clean Water Act, could have significant impacts for the renewable energy industry and project investments.
