President Joe Biden on Thursday announced two nominees for the Tennessee Valley Authority’s board of directors.
Beth Harwell and Brian Noland are already serving on the panel, but their terms expired earlier this year. Both were originally tapped by former President Donald Trump.
Harwell served in the Tennessee House of Representatives, including as speaker, before joining the TVA board. Noland was president of East Tennessee State University.
The TVA board currently has eight members — most of them Democratic — and one vacancy. Biden nominated Patrice Robinson, former Memphis City Council member, for that post.
