Elizabeth Klein, who served at the Interior Department under three presidents, has started a new role in academia.
Klein recently joined Penn Washington — the University of Pennsylvania’s Washington location — as its inaugural director of domestic policy programs.
Klein served all four years of the Biden administration at Interior, most recently as director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. She also served as a senior counselor to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, where Klein worked on topics including water policy and climate change resilience.
Previously, Klein was deputy director of the State Energy & Environmental Impact Center at New York University School of Law. She also served at Interior during the Obama and Clinton administrations.
